The Problems Faced By MF NAS Licensee's (in Tweaker
Speak) After hearing a lot of belly aching over the years about MF NAS (some I agree with & some I don't). Enough is enough! Solutions need to be found and I think I might have them. If you're interested read on. I'm going to assume that if you are here, you know everything with AM is big. This includes aerial size, money needed, land etc. There are some new designs and methods around these days. I'm not going to go into them. Everything here is from "old school wisdom" based on well used rules of thumb. Any old tech would know to be correct! The new ways are still up for some debate and are not widely used in practice. I'm simply taking a fresh look at some "old wisdom" and not quickly dismissing it because "it will not work as good as one would like". I believe if you can get "some" coverage it's better than none! Wouldn't an aerial that doesn't break the bank and not upset the neighbours be an option? Say it worked at a small percentage of the bigger aerial's performance and was a percentage of the price too. It would at least be worth a look surely? To me it's all about economy of scale versus what you can get for the right price. This holds true right across the board for everything involved here. Some people might have a tin roof on top of some factories to use for free. Some may have the land but don't want to upset the neighbours. Then some may have all the boxes ticked. But the budget still doesn't allow a massive 44m tower. This is why there is more than one version. I dare say there will be more as things evolve! |

all based in "old wisdom" and are nothing new as mentioned. But no one has ever done them with the mindset
needed for MF NAS. This is an evolving process! Keep an eye on these pages
;-) The more people interested the more enthusiastic I get. Plus potential orders make it easier to justify getting the materials in bulk. That in turn makes them cheaper to build it all helps. I'd even enjoy a trip to your place to set it up for you. I'd be glad to call it a holiday for the most part! I work cheap but not free! There is no prices as of yet.
