A
decision
to
simplify music selection
at Station X was made a while back. This resulted in
the birth of the "GOOD"
or
"BAD" music policy. This is employed behind the scenes of the current
format! Opinions vary
of course! But that is what makes the world go around. Station X these days sails very close to a gold format and is aimed at over 30's. The exception being it's not limited to just your typical "Gold" tunes. You will find a select few currents in there mixed with the more funky tunes that a traditional gold format doesn't allow. There is a preference towards the Australian versions of any tracks played too. Different mixes are released for different markets around the world. If possible (or known to me) the Australian version will automatically be preferred. The idea is Station X is representing Australia on the internet. Today Station X runs as a Hobby Station and isn't out to change the radio landscape. It is hoped you will find something here that terrestrial radio can't give you (I'm starting to sound like Steve Jarrott from The Real 80's). The music selection is totally done by me if you agree please show your support by listening as much as you can. The format restrictions imposed on Station X aren't there to restrict it in any way. Rather the intention is to focus it in and be effective in one area. There are other projects in motion designed to take up the slack. For example CRC & Format 3 which have links on the front page. Remember Station X is operated for the fun of it these days. It's not a corporate giant (now I'm sounding like the crazy American on Modern Rock World Wide)! Thanks for reading! Peter |
